Have you ever thought about what caused the Dust Bowl? The Desert of Dust was a man made disaster. What produced the Dirty Thirties. The Dust Bowl was caused by the machinery, the loss of short grass prairie, and the huge drought. The drought was a big crisis in the Jungle of Dust. The farmers had no rain so they started to plow all the short grass prairie. They did that because they thought the rain would follow the short grass prairie. But since the farmers plowed to much there was nothing but dirt left to get picked up by the heavy winds. The machinery triggered the black blizzard because the farmers started to use combines and tractors. The combines and tractors would plow so much short grass prairie, soon there was nothing but top soil left. So since there was nothing to hold down the soil down the whirling winds picked the dirt up. The short grass prairie was a main effect of the Black Sunday also. The farmers started to plow the short grass prairie. The farmers kept plowing because the farmers thought the rain would follow the plow. So after awhile the winds came and picked up the precious top soil that was under short grass prairie. We learned that the Dust Bowl was a man made disaster.
